ABOUT:

Parker’s Army Hockey was formed to give the opportunity for travel hockey players to “Play for Parker” in tournaments over the Spring/Summer months as well as to help raise funds and awareness for Parker’s Army and their mission.

We are an independent Spring/Summer select tournament hockey program based out of Manahawkin, NJ which runs from May thru early July. In our first season of Spring 2019 we skated teams from Mite thru Midget with well over 100 players wearing the PINK jersey to "Play for Parker"!!!

We plan to form select hockey teams at the 8U Mite, 10U Squirt, 12U Peewee, 14U Bantam, and 16U/18U Midget levels each Spring/Summer tournament hockey season depending on interest at each age level. We provide a light Spring/Summer schedule of on-ice practice/skills sessions and tournaments, at a very reasonable cost, to keep your player on the ice and having fun for the Spring/Summer tournament season. Our practices will primarily focus on skills development to continue to improve a player's skill set over the course of the off season. We look to finish up by the first weekend in July so you player can enjoy time off for the summer, play another sport, or go and play for another summer hockey program if you choose to.

Parker’s Army is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in the memory of Parker Nork, an avid athlete, who passed away after a short battle with ALL Leukemia at the young age of nine. To memorialize his beautiful life, the organization seeks to raise funds through various community events to provide scholarships to high school student athletes, to help fund area youth recreational programs and hockey programs and to donate to help in the fight to cure childhood cancer. PLAYER APPLICATION:

To be considered for one of our teams, please submit a player application on our "PLAYER APPLICATION" page of this website.

Include a brief bio on the player including all past playing experience, including current/previous travel team, all parent contact info, and the desired age level requested in the form. You MUST submit an application for your son/daughter to be considered for a team.

All players will be reviewed by the Parker's Army Hockey Coaching Staff and the Hockey Director before being offered a position to play on a team. Once placed on a team, payment will be due to secure your spot on the roster. Our teams are "SELECT" teams, and players will be chosen by the coaches based on the need and make up of each individual team. We will do our very best to have as many players be able to play for Parker's Army as possible, but we can not guarantee a roster spot for everyone.

Parker's Army Hockey teams will play competitive tournament hockey and there will be NO guarantee of equal ice time. Parker's Army Hockey also has a ZERO TOLERANCE policy and will not tolerate any disruptive or abusive behavior to any of our players, coaches, administrators, or officials.

COACHING STAFF:

Parker's Army Hockey teams will be coached by a USA Hockey certified coaching staff. Our coaches have extensive travel hockey and high school coaching experience as well.

LOCATIONS:

Parker's Army Hockey teams will use Winding River Skating Center in Toms River and possibly surrounding area rinks (if necessary) for practices.

AFFILIATION:

Parker's Army Hockey teams are independent Spring/Summer tournament hockey teams and are not affiliated with any Hockey Club, Rink or Township run organization and is solely run in the USA Hockey non-tournament bound team fashion.

HISTORY:

Parker's Army Hockey teams were formerly known as South Jersey Selects for about 8 years before Parker's Army Hockey was formed. Our Spring and Summer select teams have been participating in various Spring/Summer Tournaments for the past 15 summers. Teams have previously been skated out of Winding River Skating Center and Flyers SkateZone Atlantic City.
